Sleep to Wake is a solo show assembled from the works of Robert Browning, especially the "Dramatic Monologues," and from the letters that passed between the poet and Elizabeth Barrett, who was to become his wife. It is a one-man show designed for portability, which can be performed in almost any venue from a private home, to a lecture hall, to a large legitimate theatre. There is a full-length version, running about two and a quarter hours, and a one-act version that comes in at about seventy minutes.
